This position is responsible for all tax compliance and resolution of Federal, International and State and Local tax issues for this $2 billion subsidiary.
*Report to and be mentored by the Manager for the Government and Public Safety business, who brings 18 years of company experience and knowledge and is headquartered at the corporate offices.
*Once you’ve settled into this role you will be your own boss, with supervision for full time and contract professional staff.
*Position is bonus eligible
Position Responsibilities:
*Preparation of all Federal, State and Local income tax returns.
*Resolve all Federal, International and State and Local tax issues as necessary.
*Compute effective tax rate, deferred taxes and estimated tax payments quarterly.
*Provide tax advice to finance and operating functions.
*Participate in responding to IRS IDR’s and monitor responses to State and Local audit requests that are handled by the outside consultant.
*Supervise information gathering for monthly sales and use tax returns.
*Review quarterly transfer pricing positions and make transfer price changes/income shifts as appropriate.
*Monitor 5471’s preparation handled by Corporate Finance.
Candidate Profile:
*Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; MST and/or CPA a plus
*5+ years overall tax experience focusing on Federal and State income tax laws as related
to preparation of income tax returns.
* Candidate must have solid knowledge base of US tax technical skills and US GAAP accounting, particularly SFAS 109 and FIN48
*Strong ability to understand the broader business issues of an organization and how tax integrates with those issues.
*Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
*Ability to work independently |
