| STAFF ACCOUNTANT/HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST (Upper East Side) ***New York NY*** | | Flag this posting as inappropriate Click here to contact posting owner | | | A Not for Profit School located in the Upper East Side is seeking a bright, energetic staff accountant/human resource specialist to join our finance team. The right candidate will have a bachelor?s degree in accounting (CPA preferred), at least five years experience in not for profit finance (school experience a plus), be proficient in excel and working with general ledger packages (Fund EZ is a plus), be well organized, and willing to be a hands on member of a mission driven early childhood school.
Responsibilities:
Process Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Issue annual 1099?s, maintain vendor relations
Reconcile bank account, balance sheet and income statement accounts, including depreciation
Reconcile annual fund, capital campaign, and general ledger journal entries
Data input and analysis of staff productivity data
Maintain personnel files including working papers, fingerprinting, background checks and annual physicals
Oversee implementation and explanation of annual employee benefits and renewals
Organize new hire orientations (medical, dental, life, flex spending)
Assist in Payroll Processing
Oversee and coordinate along with the business manager annual audit with external auditors
Preparation of annual CFR for Board of Education reporting
Assist in preparation and distribution of monthly reports including development reports
Assist in budget and forecast preparation and analysis including grants and projects budgets
Assist in grant reporting and other regulatory reports, grant applications and submission of compliance forms for City and State funding
Assist Director of Development as needed with Special Events and Fundraising
