| Sat., May 10 - Road Bike ? Far Rockaway Peninsula ? 10C17 ? 17 miles one way - Join us for a tour of what the Carnarsie Indians called ?Reckowacky? which means ?Place of Brightwater?. Then in the 1800?s became known as the playground of the rich and famous English and Irish immigrants. This Peninsula is rich in American history. Take the ?Q? subway to Parkside Ave. Drivers can park at the Wollman Ice Skating Rink just inside the Park at this entrance. Meet at 10 am in front of the subway station. The return will be via the ?A? subway. Bring plenty of water and lunch. Helmets required. Rain cancels.
